Cross Bore & Sewer Lateral Inspections

Utility lines installed from horizontal drilling methods dating back several decades have created a significant national concern over public safety. The danger posed by a natural gas line intersecting with another underground utility is tremendous. Identifying these problems is now becoming a standard process nationwide. To prevent the risk of creating more cross boring of underground facilities and lines, a complete inspection is necessary for current construction projects.

The purpose of Closed Circuit Television Inspection (CCTV) is to determine:

  • Structural condition
  • Location of O&M and structural defects
  • Evidence of Inflow & Infiltration (I/I)
  • Identify size and material of construction
  • Locate service laterals
  • Locate obstructions, such as roots, grease, debris, and cross bores

URG also has a jet truck, to help clean sanitary lines ahead of our camera system:

  • Hard and soft drain obstruction cutting
  • Bottom bombing
  • Foam applications for root herbicide
